POSITION SUMMARY

The BI Analyst 3 (Advanced) plays a key role in delivering insightful, user-centered business intelligence solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making. With several years of experience in BI and a strong functional understanding of business processes, this individual independently delivers complex dashboards, builds robust data models, and integrates data from multiple sources. The BI Analyst 3 is proficient in Power BI, SQL, Databricks, and AI-assisted development tools (including Claude), and contributes to team success by mentoring peers and refining delivery standards. This role is to collaborate with onshore resources to ensure delivery of BI solutions meeting organizational needs.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

BI Solution Development & Technical Expertise

  • Design and deliver advanced dashboards and reports using Power BI, Databricks, SQL, and other BI tools.
  • Create robust data models and solve complex data integration challenges using DAX, Power Query, and automation tools.
  • Transform raw and silver-layer data into curated Databricks gold datasets that serve as the trusted source for dashboards, reports, and downstream analytics.
  • Build self-serve analytics capabilities in Databricks (SQL warehouses, AI/BI Dashboards, Genie spaces) that enable internal business customers to answer their own questions without engineering involvement.
  • Leverage Claude and other AI tools to accelerate BI solution development, including DAX authoring, SQL generation and optimization, code review, documentation, and rapid prototyping through Live Artifacts and Cowork.
  • Contribute to the adoption of new BI tools, AI capabilities, and techniques within the team.

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of BI projects with minimal oversight, managing scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure data alignment and solution relevance.
  • Coach team members on project planning and execution best practices.

Product Delivery & Quality

  • Ensure high-quality, branded, and user-friendly BI products that meet customer needs and standards.
  • Actively participate in and lead peer reviews, refining delivery standards and best practices.
  • Focus on enhancing user experience and maintaining data accuracy.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead peers and small cross-functional analytics efforts, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Mentor junior analysts and help drive adoption of BI best practices.
  • Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders to support data-driven outcomes.

Strategic Impact & BI Vision

  • Shape BI priorities based on business needs and contribute to departmental planning.
  • Support the evolution of analytics maturity across the organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field such as Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Computer Science.
  • 3–5 years of BI experience with moderate exposure to functional business areas.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver solutions independently.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Power BI (including complex DAX and Power Query), SQL, and Databricks (notebooks, SQL warehouses, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog).
  • Experience with data modeling, multi-source integration, gold-layer dataset design, and automation tools.
  • Hands-on use of Claude (or comparable AI tooling) for accelerating BI development—Live Artifacts for prototyping dashboards, Cowork for workflow automation, and AI-assisted SQL and DAX authoring.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting data issues and optimizing BI performance.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Clear communicator capable of translating technical concepts for business users.
  • Collaborates well with team members and stakeholders; known for responsiveness and reliability.
  • Shares knowledge and contributes to team improvement through mentorship and peer support.
